Teaching the Controversy

At one time, there was a concerted effort from various quarters to introduce the teaching of Creation Science in public schools. We wish to bring to the Gentle Reader’s attention the ambiguity created by the wording “Creation Science”.
We know that, should this ill conceived effort succeed, students would be required to use reasoning skills to determine the relative merits of various claims to knowledge. The acquisition of appropriate reasoning skills would necessitate teaching the fundamentals of reasoning, and not only presenting facts for memorization to pass standardized tests as is fashionable today. These newly found skills of critical thought and being cautious towards unsubstantiated claims can be applied to diverse subjects, such as slavery, the Holocaust, the flat earth, astrology, and democracy. We knew that teaching the manufactured controversy of evolution was destined to fail, if only due to educators’ reluctance to teach an additional subject.
We encourage the Gentle Reader to imagine the scenario where students are taught reasoning skills. Within an hour, it would be obvious to many students, although not all students, that certain classmates can not understand the basics of reasoning and other classmates lack critical thinking. This singular effort of teaching “How to Reason: 101” would undermine the modern idea of equality. Once the idea of human equality is exposed as a sham, then other points of the modern agenda would be scrutinized. For if the opinion of human equality is exposed as a farce, other uninformed opinions will also be questioned and, with the ubiquitous aid of Divine assistance, duly dismissed.
The current opinion of the beginning of the cosmos is styled the “Big Bang” theory. One supposition is that all matter now found in the universe was compacted into a space less than a square inch and, for reasons not understood by this researcher, exploded or began to rapidly expand. From this moment, all galaxies came into being. The time of the big bang is thought to have occurred about 13 billion years ago.
Creation science suggests that everything was created from nothing; the material universe is the result of Divine fiat. Due to his uncertain nature, the creator may be designated by various titles, such as architect or demiurge. Of course, one cannot know beforehand if this creator is beneficial and, until all pertinent evidence is studied, one should not assume the benevolence of this creator. We admit our disadvantage concerning the merits of matter, it seems that matter has no moral qualities, matter is without moral characteristics; it is the epitome of amorality. Finally, it is possible that the creator is not the Old Testament character that opinionated Christians either imagine or presume. Teaching the controversy.
We suggest that the controversy of same sex marriage was overcome by bringing to the novel subject arguments that were not based on neither natural law nor reason, but casting marriage as the expression of love. Love, of course, is an ambiguous word, but it resonates with conventional understanding. We look forward to the legal acceptance of pederasty, not by repetition of the term “love”, but by appealing to the ancient maxim that equates lack of sight with love.
