Hate Groups Examined

The impetus for our research is the increase of incidents of monuments and memorials located in the southern United States being removed. The conventional explanation is to limit the nefarious influence of “hate groups”.
We concede that we are ignorant of the meaning of “hate groups” and their influence, and to rectify this deficiency, we have found an authority that tracks over 900 hate groups in the United States. The Southern Poverty Law Center has enormous experience with these groups over several decades and we will rely on their knowledge. Since the word “Law” is in this group’s title, we presume that their definition of hate groups will be accurate and allow us to independently identify hate groups, without relying upon an external authority.
We quote in full:

We quote in full:
“All hate groups have beliefs or practices that attack or malign an entire class of people, typically for their immutable characteristics.”
This definition is detailed and to correctly understand the meaning and implications, we must proceed cautiously, lest we substitute our folly for their insight.
“Belief” is “an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists”.
“Practice” is “the actual application or use of an idea, belief, or method as opposed to theories about such application or use”.
To “Attack” is to “take aggressive action against (a place or enemy forces) with weapons or armed force, typically in a battle or war”.
To “Malign” is to “speak about (someone) in a spitefully critical manner”.
“Typically” is synonymous with “in most cases; usually”.

“Hate group activities can include criminal acts, marches, rallies, speeches, meetings, leafleting or publishing.”
This additional information, although interesting, cannot assist us in determining exactly what is or is not a hate group. For example, we Apprentices and Master often have meetings. In these settings, it is not uncommon for Apprentice Joe to continue his eighteen year monologue, nor for Master to expound upon some esoteric topic. Apprentice Joe’s monologues are “the expression of ... thoughts and feelings by articulate sounds” and Master’s erudite commentary is correctly understood as
“a formal address or discourse delivered to an audience.” Our website is published, therefore, our group has three characteristics that identify hate groups. Our group does not engage in “marches”, “rallies”, or “leafleting” as we are not concerned with either increasing the number of our members or promoting our views. Although the previous characteristics are ambiguous, “criminal acts” is an explicit term and crime is “an action or omission that constitutes an offense that may be prosecuted by the state and is punishable by law”.
We know that hate groups typically target certain people “for their immutable characteristics”, otherwise said, for a “feature or quality belonging typically to a person, place, or thing and serving to identify it” and this feature or quality is “unchanging over time or unable to be changed”.
“Immutability” and “permanent” seem to be similar to the Greek word
“ἀκατάπαυστος” [Strong’s G180] “that cannot cease” as found in account of the earth’s creation (Genesis 1:2).
“Hate” means to “feel intense dislike for (someone)”. As a native English speaker, we acknowledge our natural bias towards words derived from Germanic languages, although we are not unfamiliar with abhorrence, abomination, anathema, animosity, animus, antagonism, antipathy, aversion, bother, detestation, disgust, disparage, enmity, execration, grievance, gripe, hatred, horror, hostility, irritant, loathing, malevolence, malignity, mislike, nuisance, objection, odium, rancor, rankling, repugnance, repulsion, resentment, revulsion, scorn, and spite.
Incipit Excursion
Master does not mention the “school to the south” because of hatred, for this “school” has admirable traits, but due to its rivalry with Purdue University. However, Master does “heap coals” upon the local doctoral granting “school”. The local “school” either cannot change or is unwilling to change. The reason for this permanent sisituairon is irrevement: it basks in the glow of mediocrity and seeks the radiance of decadence.
Excipit Excursion
We are not concerned with intentions or attitudes, as these are hidden to the researcher and are susceptible to incorrect or subjective interpretations, however, actions are objective and can be observed and described. No one doubts that marches and rallies are observable and that criminal activities should be punished.
For all of our research, we can only be certain that specific individuals accept “that a statement is true” and have an “intense dislike” for certain monuments. The Civil War is the “feature or quality” that identifies these monuments from other monuments. Of course, by their nature, these monuments are “unchanging” or “unable to be changed”. The tangible result of this intense dislike by certain individuals is the removal of the monuments.
Of course, the hatred of inanimate objects does not conform to our accepted definition of “hate groups”, as hate groups target people, not things. Therefore, the class of people who are incapable of change are those from the Civil War.
The thoughtful Reader will realize that our conclusion, although fanciful, is one possible interpretation of the facts.
