The Brothers McDonald were featured on the cover of the September, 1952 issue of "American Restaurant Magazine".
Their building was 1,600 square feet, selling one million burgers and 160 tons of French fries, with annual sales of $350,000, the brothers wold split the $100,00 profit. They would receive up to 300 inquires a month and would begin franchising in 1953.
Neil Fox opened his store in Phoenix, Arizona in June, 1953. For $950 (or $1,000, depending on the source), he was given blueprints, the operations manual and was neither obligated to name the business "McDonald's" nor pay a monthly franchise or royalty fee.
