Although we have a continually updated list of New Testament words, the difficulties of translating “doxa” into English necessitates a separate inquiry.
Some years ago in Sunday School, I was taught that “Orthodox” means “true worship”, thereby, distinguishing us from both the “universal” Roman church and the “disapproving” churches. Although this definition of “Orthodox” is sufficient for teaching the true faith to children , it does not capture the subtleties of the word “doxa”. As the Apostle wrote, "When I was a child ... , I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but ... I put away childish things."

As the Apostle wrote, "When I was a child ... , I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but ... I put away childish things."
The noun “doxa” [Strong’s number G1391] is translated in the King James Bible by the following terms and occurrences: glory, 145; glorious, 10; honor, 6; praise, 4; dignity, 2; ans worship, 1.
Since 155 of the 168 translations pertain to “glory”, we have reason to suspect that the word could, or should, be translated by words of such differing meanings as praise and dignity. Clearly, this “doxa” represents certain minor issues in translation.
From Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, “doxa” has the primary meanings of “opinion, judgment, view”; the secondary meanings of “opinion, estimate (good or bad)”, and the tertiary usage is from the Hebrew, which cannot enlighten us regarding the meaning of the Greek word.

G1380
The verb “Dokeo” [G1380] occurs sixty three times with the following translations: think, 33; seem, 13; suppose, 7; seem good, 3; please, 2; and miscellaneous, 5. The inconsistent translations indicate the editors of the KJV had some minor difficulties with the word “dokeo”.
From Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, “dokeo” has the primary mearnings of “to be opinion, think, suppose”, and the secondary meanings of “to seem, be accounted, reputed”.
From Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, “dokeo” has the primary mearnings of “to be opinion, think, suppose”, and the secondary meanings of “to seem, be accounted, reputed”.
G1166
Doxa is derived from verb “dokeo” [G1380] which is derived from verb “deiknyo” [G1166]. “Deiknyo” is consistently translated as “show” in all thirty one instances of the word. The consistency of translation suggests the editors of the KJV had no difficulties with “deuknyo”.
VERBS
G1392
The verb “doxazo” [G1392] is translated in the KJV in the following manner:: glorify, 54; honour, 3; have glory, 2; magnify, once;, make glorious, once; and full of glory, once.
From Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, “doxazo” has the primary meaning of “to think, to suppose, be of opinion”, the secondary meaning of “to praise, extol, magnify, celebrate”, the tertiary meaning of “do honor, do honor to, hold in honor”. The fourth, and final, definition is “to make glorious, adorn with lustre, clothe with splendor”.
Strong’s numbers G5319 (phaneroo, verb), G5318 (phaneros, adjective), G5316 (phaino, verb), and G5457 (phos, noun) are variously translated with the general understanding of “appearing” or being seen in a physical sense. Therefore, whatever the meanings of “doxa” and “deiknyo” may be, if the author were discussing a physical manifestation, there are other Greek words that are have greater clarity than “doxa” and derived words.
In conclusion to this part, we may state that the progression from “show” to “think/seem” is as difficult to follow as from “think/seem” to “glory/glorious”.
Our preliminary research indicates that “glory” is frequently the English translation doe the words G1391 and G1392. Although these translations are typical, we have reservations as the reason, or reasons, “glory” is utilized instead of either the primary or secondary definition: opinion, judgment, or view. The usage of the tertiary definition is not indicative of an incorrect translation, yet, when referring to God, the tendency to rely upon the tertiary definition is of interest. In fact, the English reading does not provide any indication of inappropriate or odd wording
Since the translations are not consistent, we reference the Sixtus Clementine Vulgate (SCV) due to our belief that although the editors of the KJV are nit consistent with the Textus Receptus, we expect they are consistent with the SCV and, if true, this consistency would be indicative that the Vulgate was primary text of the editors and not, as is presumed, the Textus Receptus.
Thayer's Greek Lexicon states that "doxa" in the sacred writings is "always, good opinion concerning one, and as resulting from that...". While the general opinion, or conventional wisdom, regarding God is overwhelming positive, there is no reason that there may not be bad opinions regarding God, as Isaiah 45:7 clearly states: "I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things." Therefore, the quality of opinion is provided by the reader alone, or in the example of the KJV, the translators. Interestingly, the word "doxa" itself is beyond good and evil, it is neutral.

Honor [noun]: high respect; esteem.
Honor [verb]: regard with great respect
Majestic [adj]: having or showing impressive beauty or dignity.

Rom 1:23 And changed the glory G1391 (opinion, estimate) of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man.
Et mutaverunt gloriam incorruptibilis Dei ...
People cannot change the glory of God, but people can change their opinions regarding the image, or appearance, of God. This passage demonstrates the difficulty of translating the word "doxa"; context is everything.
Rom 2:7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory G1391 and honour and immortality ...
... patientiam boni operis, gloriam, et honorem, ...
Rom 2:10 But glory, G1391 honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good.

Glory is given to men who perform good works.
Rom 3:7 For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; G1391 why yet am I also judged as a sinner?
... abundavit in gloriam ipsius ...
By deceit, Saint Paul has changed people's opinions about God, otherwise said, the ends justify the means.
Rom 3:23 All have sinned, and come short of the glory G1391 (opinion) of God;
... omnes enim peccaverunt, et egent gloria Dei.
Rom 4:20 He [Abraham] staggered not at the promise of God ... giving glory G1391 (positive opinions) to God ...
... est fide, dans gloriam Deo ...
Rom 5:2 We ... rejoice in hope of the glory G1391 (appearance) of God.

This is a difficult passage to interpret: Being happy in the expectation of the good opinions of God.

... mortuis per gloriam Patris ...
This is a difficult passage, as Christ was risen by the appearance or opinion of the Father does not make sense.
Rom 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory G1391 which shall be revealed in us.

ut et ipsi salutem consequantur, quæ est in Christo Jesu, cum gloria cælesti.
Once again, we have a transposition of "Jesus Christ" into "Christ Jesus". The Latin text, "cælesti", "heavenly", differs from the Greek text, αἰώνιος , aiōnios, "eternal".

CONCLUSION
CONCLUSION
For the New Testament as a whole, the editors fo the KJV are consistent in their translation of "Doxa" and "Doxazo" (over 92% for both words).
Although the editors are consistent, we have valid reservations regarding the opinion that "Doxa" should even be translated into English as "Glory"; after all, on two occasions, the editors translated "Doxa" as "dignitaries", thereby giving "Doxa" a more mundane, and less glorious, meaning (2 Pe 2:10, Jude 1:8).
Our research into how the Orthodox Church currently understands and uses the word "Doxa" was of little assistance, and we should not expect much philological guidance from an ancient and mystically inclined Church that does not know when Jesus lived and has no dogma concerning either an immortal soul or a book called the Bible [vide The Ignorant Orthodox Church Examined]. Therefore, we will not relate our research into official sources of the Orthodox Church.
In conclusion to our research into appropriate translations of the word"Doxa", we may say that the various meanings and possible misunderstandings of the word "Doxa" is similar to the Apostle:
