"Once a church or denomination is untethered from the inerrancy of the Bible, there is no brake on the relativising effects of cultural pressure, ... Once biblical inerrancy is abandoned, there is no brake on theological and moral revisionism. The Bible's authority becomes relative, and there is no anchor to hold the church to the words of Scripture and 2000 years of Christian witness." |
"Biblical inerrancy, as formulated in the "Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy", is the doctrine that the Bible "is without error or fault in all its teaching";[1] or, at least, that "Scripture in the original manuscripts does not affirm anything that is contrary to fact."-Wikipedia |
If we accept the premise that the Bible is inerrant, we must ask which version of the Bible is inerrant: The Lutheran version of the 16th century, without the Apocrypha, or the King James Bible of 1611 with the Apocrypha, or the American version of King Jame Bible without the Apocrypha since the 19th century.
It follows that if the 1611 version was inerrant, then the modern Bible has been corrupted by the removal of books. If the 1611 version was not yet inerrant, then who had the authority to remove the imperfect books for the current version of the Bible to become inerrant?
The introductory quote warns the reader that abandonment of the authority of the Bible will result in revisionism. We recall the Orthodox church does not have any dogma regarding a "Bible" or what constitutes a "Bible". Yet, unlike the 40,000 (and still counting) branches of Protestantism, there is no deluge of moral relativism and fragmentation of the Orthodox Church.
We must ask: How can it be possible for a Church to be ignorant of the Bible as dogma, but not be drowning in moral decay and disgruntled members leaving to start new "churches"?
As a Great Occultist, I can deduce one, and only one conclusion from the evidence-the Magick that sustains the Orthodox Church is incredibly more powerful than the Magick that is invoked to sustain the Protestant Churches.
