An Attempt to Date
the Great Pyramid
G.D.O'Bradovich III
The quick answer to the "ancient" mystery of the Great Pyramid is that it was built after the Moslem conquest of Egypt in the 16th century. This conclusion explains why there are no inscriptions in the chambers or on the remaining casing stones. Islam is against idolatry and hieroglyphs could be considered idolatrous. Ancient Egyptian monuments are covered with hieroglyphs, inside and out.
The Great Pyramid is considered one of the first pyramids constructed. However, because of the pyramid's size, engineering of the Grand Gallery and alignment to the cardinal points, it must be one of the last.
The Great Pyramid is considered one of the first pyramids constructed. However, because of the pyramid's size, engineering of the Grand Gallery and alignment to the cardinal points, it must be one of the last.
As evidence for the recent construction of the Great Pyramid, consider the following:
One mile (5,280 feet)/ 11=480.00 feet (appropriate height)
One mile (5,280 feet)/ 7=754.28 feet (approximate base) or Height, 280 cubits x 11=3,080 cubits 3,080 cubits x 20.62 inches/cubit=64,509.6 inches 64,509.6 inches x 1 foot/ 12 inches= 5,292.46 feet Length, 440 cubits x 7= 3,080 cubits 5,292.46 feet/ 5,280 feet is 100.29 or a difference of .29 %. This small difference clearly indicates a knowledge of the English mile that could not be known in Egypt in 2,400 BC. Height x 11= Length x 7 = 1 Mile (approximate) or 1 Mile/11=Great Pyramid, Height 1 Mile/ 7=Great Pyramid, Length The ratio of the length of the King's Chamber to the base length of the pyramid is 1:22.
412 inches (King's Chamber length): 9,073 inches (Pyramid length)::1:22 (The King's chamber can be divided by 22 to get a new cubit length.) The base of the pyramid x 22=9,073 inches 9,073 inches x 22=199,606 inches=16,633 feet=3.15 miles 3.15 miles x 22= 69.307 miles. 69.307 miles x 22= 1,524.76 miles. |
History teaches that the Ottomans invaded Egypt in 1517. Herodotus states that the combined reigns of Cheops and Khafre totaled 106 years. During their reigns the temples (churches) where closed and the people could not offer sacrifices (veneration) to the gods (saints). Menkaure built the third pyramid and his reign is believed to be 18 to 22 years.

Modern Egyptology informs us that the 86 years pasted from the begining of Khufu's reign to the end of Menkaure's reign. Under both scenarios, it was possible for John Greaves to see the pyramids in pristine condition, even if Menkaure's pyramid was not finished.
In the Book of Revelation states that the new Jerusalem is 12,000 stadia square at the base. There are many ancient stadia, so 1,524.76 miles will be divided by 12,000. The result is .127 miles or 670.89 feet or 204.48 meters. Per Wikipedia, a Phoenician Egyptian stadia is 209 meters or a difference of 1.96%.
Therefore, the base of the new Jerusalem and the base of the Great Pyramid multiplied by 484 (22 x 22) are roughly equal.
From the length of the King's Chamber multiplied by 22 and continuing until the base length of the new Jerusalem is reached is not a coincidence.
Either the author or one of the redactors of the Book of Revelation must have known the dimensions of the King's Chamber and the ratio of 1:22 to the pyramid base and continued the progression to arrive at the base length of the new Jerusalem. The knowledge of the dimensions of the King's Chamber is not extraordinary, since the Great Pyramid was entered in the 9th century according to the accepted chronology.
We know that Revelation was accepted, after much discussion, into the western canon in the 4th century after Christ. If this 4th century were the 400's, then the Orthodox Church would know of it and quote from it according to the lectionary, as they do other New Testaments books. Since the Orthodox Churches do not quote from it, this indicates that the 4th century after Christ was not the 400's.
Revelation indicates that 144,000 male virgins will reside in the new Jerusalem and we note that Christians are not mentioned in the book by name.
We speculate that the book of Revelation was written by a follower of Judaism and was redacted by a follower of Mohamed. This would explain the emphasis on works and the evil of idol worship and lack of emphasis on faith. Works is understood as following the Law ("doing Torah") and idol worship refers to veneration of icons. Faith, as a Christian concept, and does not appear in Revelation. The Islamic redaction was made after 1453.
"Babylon is fallen, is fallen" refers to Constantinople falling in 1204 and for the last time in 1453.
No Christian writer would say "for it is the number of a man and his number of is 666" because in Greek it is equal to Jesus Christ (2,368). In Hebrew, 2,368 is the numerical value for the signs of the Zodiac. Therefore, we have the following:

Although Revelation and the Great Pyramid could date from an earlier time, it seems unlikely.
22 degrees at the equator=69.171 miles x 22=1,521.76 miles
base of new Jerusalem is 1,524.76 miles. For a difference of 1.001966%. |
Therefore, the final redactor of Revelation knew the world was a sphere and also knew the dimensions of it.
This final redaction must have occurred after the fall of Constantinople and after the building of the Great Pyramid.
Piazzi Smyth's amazement that all the European measures are of similar lengths even through the span of thousands of years is not that remarkable when one realizes that these monuments and measures are not thousand of years old, but hundreds of years old. The similar lengths are explained by their recent creation.

According to the Oxford English Dictionary the first appearance of "Great Pyramid" that was first recorded in the English language was in 1591.
1591 J. Harington in tr. L. Ariosto Orlando Furioso xv. 116 (note)
Peter Messie prooueth that the great Pyramid was 150. furlongs hie.
A furlong is 660 feet, therefore the Great Pyramid was 18.75 miles high (660x150/5,280)! We infer that Harington is not referring to the Egyptian pyramid.
1655 T. Stanley Hist. Philos. i. vii. 18
The height of the great Pyramid..is by its perpendicular..499 feet, by its inclining ascent, 693 feet.
499 feet/ 481 feet is only a difference of 3.7%. The year 1655 is 17 years after John Greaves visit to the Pyramids.
1759 Johnson Prince of Abissinia II. xxx. 39
When they came to the great pyramid they were astonished at the extent of the base.
1859 J. Taylor Great Pyramid p. vi,
I have confined my observations to the Great Pyramid alone.
1880 Warren (Pa.) Ledger 19 Mar. 1/8
