"Timing Is Everything"
or
John, George, and Joe Compared

One of the most common objects regarding the valid application of Astrology is that many people are born on the same day, or the same time, especially in the cases of identical twins. Of course these detractors do not understand the importance of the planetary influences at the moment of birth, nor longitude and latitude. In the case of twins, we appeal to the myth of Gemini as demonstrating that identical twins do not behave in exactly the same manner and have different interest.

commentary
Even a general knowledge of the careers of Jean and Joseph indicates that the former is influenced more by Capricorn and the later by Aquarius. The emotional rising sign of Cancer is an additional indicator that the subject would be inclined to less than rational pursuits.
We suggest that Jean had enough of the mystical "mumbo jumbo" during his childhood and retreated into books and languages to avoid, if not the irrational, then the incomprehensible. We note that by their teenage years, both Jean and Joe were on the path of their future immortal fame, that is, they were prodigies, but of different talents. The overwhelming influence of the cardinal signs is observed in both charts. Neither of our subjects were not long lived when compared to their contemporaries (41 and 38 years, respectively).
If we assume that both subjects were similar physically, emotionally and intellectually, then their environments were different; one was raised in the turmoil of the aftermath of a terror filled revolution, the other was raised in a new country that was undergoing a Great Revival in religion. We propose that the influences during their childhood years as being the strongest indicator regarding their careers. Joe's paternal ancestors were involved in various aspects of the Occult for several generations. We do not doubt that Jean had religious leanings, if only because of the unavoidable influence of Sagittarius.
While Modern astrologers are enamored of the accuracy of degrees in natal charts, we recognize that such information was not possible during most of astrology's history. Therefore, we are satisfied if we know what decans the planets are located. Jean's ascendant is in the first decan of Libra, whose influence is from Aquarius, that is, Saturn, whereas John's influence is Mars in the first decan of Cancer. Information such as the influence of decans is only necessary for detailed research and is outside the scope of this paper. While we are not in a position to state that the influences of outer planets, minor planets and asteroid are worthless, we do question any insights that are gathered from these novelties that can not be found in the seven ancient planets.
We note that Joe has the Moon and Venus in the sign of Aquarius, whereas Jean has no influence from Aquarius. Although Capricorn and Aquarius are ruled by Saturn, astrology has long noted that Capricorn is conservative and Aquarius is liberal or free thinking.E
As historians have noted, Jean was incapable of managing his financial affairs, so we are fortunate that his brother realized Jean's importance and intervened. Although Jack was esteemed during his life, future generations are grateful for Jack's beneficence that allowed Jean to work. Of course, Jack wrote a biography of his younger brother and edited his works after Jean's passing After twelve years of marriage, one daughter was born to Jean, so we justified in suggesting that he was not capable of managing his personal life. It seems that Jean's work took precedence in his life, and everything other aspect was secondary or of no importance.
As outsiders, we are told that the purpose of genealogical records is to baptize, by proxy, ancestors, and while that may be true, the tangible result is data that is growing by one Library of Congress every year. We wonder what a mind like Crowley's could do with so much searchable information? Could one find a verifiable pattern of planetary influences over the decades and centuries for groups of defined groups, such as those born on December 23? If we dismiss becoming Gods over a planet as the purpose of this data, could we speculate that, within the realm of the idea of reincarnation, certain people can, in fact, be searching for their past lives or the past lives of certain important and influential people?
If we momentarily ignore the Modern invention of the importance of sun signs, can we sort all those records for people born during the two hour period when Libra was the ascendant? From that group, can we narrow it down to those whose Saturn is in Leo? And then narrow to those whose Jupiter is in Capricorn? And further, Mars in Taurus? Sun in Taurus? Venus in Taurus? Mercury in Aries? And finally, the Moon in Aries? There is most certainly dozens, if not hundreds, of people that satisfy the requirements. If they led similiar lives, would that validate astrology or reincarnation? Of course, certain people could or would look to the future positions of the planets for their "ancestor's" future reincarnation.
Gentle Reader, we recognize the speculative nature of our statements, yet we can not reasonably find another explanation than the one we propose for the unfathomable amount of data-some people may be looking forward to or searching for the reincarnation or Second Coming of...
