As I have stressed to my Apprentices, personal growth is good. Since Fred suggests that love is beyond good and evil, he must agree that dharma is above karma. Did Fred have any original ideas?
The high schoolers have provided a personal insight that escaped Yours Truly in former ages.
Formerly, I was concerned that I would be unable to relate to any children that were not gifted, ah, regression to the mean, thy name is average. However, with the Apprentices, I know now that I would have a genuine concern for my children's well being and that their pursuit of happiness is more important than my unjustified expectations.
Just as I have only one expectation of the high schoolers -to be themselves, with the hope of becoming productive and mature human beings -so I am confident that I could apply this novel perspective to my children. Lowered expectations, it seems, leads to lowered self induced stress. Gentle Reader, it seems that the former HighSchoolers™ are continuing to provide valuable insights even at this late date.
As Apprentice Denver noted, either life in obedience to revelation, or life in freedom to reason.
