The idea was suggested that these minds would be download into a program to insure that they would not consume resources and that they would never negatively affect humanity's progress. One wonders what type of simulated world the Great Programmer of the Universe would construct. Since “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”, the simulated world would be identical to the real world. The simulated world would not need to be exactly like the real world, for example, outer space could a barrier surrounding the earth in the form of a dome several thousand miles above the earth's surface. Of course, the planets and stars would be on the inside of this dome, not millions of miles removed from the earth. An ice wall several hundred feet high surrounding the perimeter of the world could be used to insure that the inhabitants cannot physically go beyond a defined area that is suitable for human habitation.
Our suggestion for the simulated world would also take advantage of theme and variation in the design of animals and plants; such as 12,000 species of ants. Using Phi ratio as the universal standard would also be an example of theme and variation, as plants branch in this ratio. If the real humanity is now immortal, the Great Programmer of the Universe may also make his subjects, fake humanity, immortal-at their “death” in the simulated world, their memories are deleted and they are later “reborn” in the simulated world. We suppose that even though memories are deleted, there will be “ghosts in the machine”, that is, specif dispositions remain in certain subjects.
As I wrote, our future is either immortality or extinction, not both.
