-Carmina Burana
As philosophers, occultists and science fiction writers know, individuals must over chance or fate. This overcoming is difficult, if not impossible, due to our inability to foresee and control future events. These events include human involvement in addition to the random nature of our universe. As to the difficulty of overcoming chance, I offer two examples from this website as evidence.
Intelligent Design was created as a parody of fundamental Christian Creationist websites and I still smile when I read the inspired wording of “shirtless gentlemen”. It was initially a “one and done” page when I published it with fewer than a dozen images, that is, I would move to more important or interesting research. However, as this webpage grew in popularity, I added more pictures until (as of this writing) it is now fully one fourth of the “hits” to my website. Apparently, I am a better occultist than I am a psychic.
An Attempt To Date a Cancer Gemini may be one of my most personal writings (along with Goat and Crab), but I do not consider "personal" to be equivalent to "good". I do not believe this page to be more insightful, revealing or profound when compared to the hundreds of pages on my site. ATTD a Gemini Cancer is unfinished, as it does not have a conclusion, and I doubt I will ever finish it since I've moved on to more interesting projects. However, it has been "linked" by enough people that it is now the second most visited webpage on my site.
Clearly, this great occultist has yet to overcome fate.
